How does a mural commission work?  Initially, the client describes an idea and then I will create a concept design.  We then discuss the aspects that work well and agree on the final design of the mural.  After that, the mural painting begins...

The Summer of 2021 - 150th Anniversary Mural: Redmile C of E Primary School

I was delighted when I was approached by Mrs Longden, the head teacher of Redmile Primary School to design and paint an exterior mural to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the school.

Initially, I created a conceptual design and we soon agreed on the final design and then the mural painting began.

Wild animals were extremely important to the design, so a fox, a hare, red kites (which are locally found), a tawny owl and some smaller creatures starred in the piece. The Sun setting behind the unmistakable Redmile Church Spire during a warm summer's evening all went into the very locally-inspired Leicestershire mural design.

A Leicestershire Memorial Mural

In the Leicestershire village of Barkestone le Vale stands a fitting memorial to those lost in conflicts past.

To remember the local heroes of this small corner of Leicestershire, I was asked to create this memorial mural and what could be more fitting than poppies?

In years gone by, people wouldn't wallpaper their walls, they'd have the wall painted with a mural. I'll match a design to your liking and your own space.

This particular mural is in my own lounge and I worked the design around the clock and the chest of drawers.
